Actor and comedian Jim Parsons has wed long-time boyfriend Todd Spiewak.

The award-winning Big Bang Theory star, 44, married his partner of 14 years at New York’s Rainbow Rooms on Saturday, Page Six reports.

Parsons spoke about the possibility of tying the knot with Spiewak back in 2015, saying that he was "certainly supportive of the notion".

He added: “I don't know - I guess I kind of think so but there's no date in the book, or ring on the finger.”

At the end of 2016, he marked the couple’s 14 years together with an Instagram post, describing Spiewak as “the best thing” that’s ever happened to him.

“I met this guy (the one with the mic) 14 years ago today and it was the best thing that ever happened to me, no contest,” he wrote.

“One of his greatest gifts to me is that he no longer takes me to sing karaoke. Also, I believe this was a selfie with an actual camera, as our phones couldn't do that back then hahaha! #todd #anniversary.”

Parsons, who has starred as Sheldon Cooper on the hit US sitcom since 2007, first spoke publicly about his sexuality back in 2012.

He is currently one of the highest-paid TV actor in the US, earning an estimated $900,000 for each episode of the comedy.

According to reports, he earns the same amount as co-stars Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki.
