Cannon and Ball have joined I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The comedy duo surprised the other contestants by arriving at the jungle camp in the early hours.

Their appearance on the ITV reality show had been strongly rumoured.

Tommy Cannon, 67, and Bobby Ball, 61, have been together for 40 years and had their own prime time TV show in the 1980s.

Both were born in Oldham and both are born-again Christians.

If they make it to the final they will be in trouble - it clashes with the first day of their panto rehearsals in Hull.

The duo arrived in the jungle by helicopter - and Bobby wore his trademark red braces as his luxury item.

It was not long before his catcphrase "Rock on, Tommy!" was ringing around the camp.

Sid Owen and Jenny Frost had been sent to a heliport in search of the Celebrity Chest.

Suddenly a chopper came into view and deposited the pair on the ground.
They had spent the past two days hiding at a secret location in Australia's Byron Bay.

And they made Sid and Jenny green with envy when they boasted of enjoying a full cooked breakfast before setting off for the camp.

Tommy admitted: "We're so excited but we're very nervous."

He confessed to a fear of spiders and snakes.

As they walked back towards the camp, the other celebrities heard the voices and wondered who was joining them.

Their identity was not much of a surprise to Jimmy Osmond, who said: "I bet it's Cannon and Ball."

All gave the newcomers a warm welcome - except David Dickinson.

Tommy and Bobby are big fans of the Bargain Hunt presenter, but he looked distinctly unimpressed to see them.

He stood back while the others introduced themselves, then told them: "Now, we've got a good group here. Everyone has worked together."

The perma-tanned presenter immediately tried to unsettle the duo.

He told Bobby: "I'm not joking. You're going to lose some weight. We're on rations like you won't believe."

Bobby replied: "David, we've just come in. What's the positive?"

David said: "There aren't a lot of positives, Bobby. I tell you, you're locked in now. It's tough. Wait until you see some of the challenges."
