When Daniel Craig emerged from the waves wearing tight trunks in the latest Bond film Casino Royale, many women swooned with admiration.

The famously-flirtatious Jonathan Ross might have been hoping for the same reaction when he sported a similar style of swimwear on a Florida beach this week.

Sadly, however, he cut a slightly less dashing figure than the muscular Craig as he played Frisbee at the water's edge.

Perhaps wisely, he kept his Tshirt on to avoid comparisons with the 007 actor's bulging muscles.

Ross, 46, is enjoying a New Year break with wife Jane Goldman, their son and two daughters.

The man who built a career on failing to pronounce his Rs can well afford a sunshine holiday after signing a controversial three-year deal worth £18million with the BBC for his weekly radio programme, TV chatshow and movie reviews.

After Casino Royale was released in November, Ross described it as a 'daring and spectacular success', and added: 'Daniel Craig is a magnificent Bond.'

To get in shape for the role, 38-year-old Craig endured a formidable-exercise plan formulated by an ex-military PE instructor and two physiotherapists.

The regime included daily yoga to tone up as well as three-hour gym sessions to reduce body fat.

Craig also embarked on intensive weight-training sessions to build up an impressive six-pack and bulging biceps.

Ross, who lives in a sprawling North London home with his family, has struggled to control his weight over the years.

Wife Jane has told in the past how both she and Ross have at times been 'absolutely huge' because of their enthusiastic appreciation of rich foods.
