Harrys, Restyled

‘Classic’ might normally be the best way of describing Harrys of London’s super-comfortable take on driving shoes and loafers, but for SS17 the British footwear manufacturer has had a sporty spruce up.

Harrys of London, £745, Harrods.com

The best thing to result from its new direction is this very special capsule collection of bright trainers and travel bags — all of which are made from rain- and scratch-resistant tech leather, and available exclusively from Harrods.

Decks Appeal

Having slipped over on his boat in 1935, one Paul A Sperry resolved to cut grip-aiding ridges into the soles of his shoes, and in the process invented the deck shoe.

Timberland Lightweight Deck Shoe, £105, Timberland.co.uk

Now his creation is a staple of summer footwear, and this season’s best pair can be found at Timberland, the brand having added its remarkably comfortable, EVA-cushioned Sensorflex sole to a classic deck shoe upper for the first time. APC, Gucci and US label Quoddy are also bringing their A-game, meaning it should be simple to be stylish while not slipping over this summer.

Sea Sense

North Sea fishermen are the inspiration for a collaboration between Italian brand Moncler and Virgil Abloh, the creative polymath behind cult label Off- White.

Moncler O Jacket, £795, Moncler.com

Entitled Moncler O, the collection of high-tech, high-style functionwear fuses Abloh’s love of colour and streetwear-style graphics with Moncler’s technical expertise. Highlights include an extralong ‘Tramail’ PVC parka, a padded fisherman’s jacket with a double collar and a classic black flight jacket.
