London Broncos' long-serving Australian hooker Chad Randall has announced his retirement from rugby league.

The 32-year-old, whose season was ended by a hamstring injury in June, made his decision after the club failed to offer him a new contract.

Randall made 197 appearances for the Londoners since joining them from NRL side Manly Sea Eagles in 2005, just five short of the club's appearance record held by Steele Retchless.

"At the start of the year we were definitely talking about doing another year but then my injury came and the club told me they didn't want me," Randall told BBC London 94.9.

"If there were another five games in the season I probably could have played.

"I feel I have been a good servant to the club and I am a loyal guy so I am happy about that. I'll always look back on my time with fond memories."

Randall is one of a host of players set to move on from the Twickenham Stoop.

David Howell, Mark Bryant, Luke Dorn and Chris Melling have all announced they are leaving the club while Jamie Soward will end his short-term stint and Scott Wheeldon, Chris Bailey, Tony Clubb, Tommy Lee, Dan Sarginson and Michael Witt are also expected to leave.

Bottom-of-the-table London play their final home game on Saturday against Huddersfield before taking in away games against Bradford and Hull KR.
