Album of unreleased Jackson tracks
Unreleased songs from the archives of late pop superstar Michael Jackson are to be released for the first time.
The eight tracks will feature on a new album called Xscape, to be released on May 13, and have been given extra sparkle by well known producers such as Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins and Stargate.
The boss of Epic Records in the US, LA Reid, was given unlimited access to a collection of recordings on which the singer had completed his vocals.
He then brought in a series of studio wizards to rework the songs. The original versions will also feature on a deluxe edition of the album.
Reid - a former judge on the US version of The X Factor - said: "Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with."
Jackson died in 2009 as a result of an overdose of the anaesthetic propofol as he prepared to make a live comeback with a string of shows at London's O2 Arena.
Some unreleased material came out in 2010 on an album called Michael.
