So just how would things turn out if Donald Trump were elected President?

Here we take a tongue-in-cheek- look at the pictures that could be beamed across the world after a Republican victory.

Posing on the steps of Downing Street, Donald Trump shares a photo opportunity with British Prime Minister Theresa May.

Then off to Kensington Palace where he was met by William and Kate before handing out gifts to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

He is then seen sharing platforms with world leaders Angela Merkel and Vladimir Putin.

He would need to swap his private jet that has carried him across the States during the campaign for the steps of Air Force One, the President's official plane. Then there's the traditional Oval Office pose and an appearance before a divided Congress.

All very strange, but you never know......

Some polls had Mr Trump behind by 11 points in mid-October but the shock reopening of an FBI investigation into Mrs Clinton’s use of emails has significantly narrowed the gap.

With the polls hours from closing, experts have predicted the tightest US Presidential race in history with Hillary Clinton ahead by a margin.

Counting in many of America's 50 states will begin at about midnight tonight, and by about 4am tomorrow either Mr Trump or Hillary Clinton could be elected the next President.
