A trio of lion cubs born in captivity have emerged for the public to see and fall in love with.

Lemon, one of the three lions of a pride at Cali Zoo in Valle del Cauca, Colombia, gave birth last month.

But she only brought the cubs outside at the weekend — and kept a protective presence. It is not yet clear what gender they are.

The zoo, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2011, has more than 3,000 animals in its collection and a wide variety of national species including primates, butterflies amphibians and reptiles.
