A former Canadian cabinet minister, his wife and three of his siblings have died in a plane crash on the way to his father’s funeral.

Jean Lapierre’s twin-engined chartered aircraft was believed to have crashed in bad weather as it came in to land in Quebec.

All seven people on the plane were killed, including two of Lapierre’s brothers and a sister. Two crew members also died.
