'Everyone will know' ban: Facebook accidentally bars users from posting three harmless words

A bizarre Facebook glitch barred the site’s millions of users from posting the words “everyone will know” for a number of days.

The harmless phrase got caught in the social media giant’s spam filter “erroneously”, stopping people from sharing statuses or sending messages containing the three words.

The filter is intended to block malicious or offensive content.

Facebook security spokeswoman Melanie Ensign told The Huffington Post: “This was a mistake with our spam filter and our engineers have resolved the issue.”

The problem was first flagged up on Friday when someone posted a topic on question.com. It had been resolved by Monday.

“A lot of my friends have been trying to post it and no one has been able to do so. If you try to post it multiple times it will block you from posting any status,” she claimed.
