Dramatic footage has emerged showing passengers being flung from their seats during a bus crash in China.

Footage shows the driver losing control after being hit by a car on the left side. Only one person was injured in the incident in Zhuzhou city last week.

One passenger, seen not wearing a seatbelt, is thrown from her seat and lands on top of two travellers sat across the aisle from her.

Speaking to Chinese news agency CCTV+, police officer Lan Feng said: "The bus was driving very fast on the highway and one woman was thrown out of her seat due to the strong force when the accident happened.

"The point of a seatbelt is that it can hold drivers and passengers in place when accidents like this happen."

It is understood that no-one else was injured in the accident.
