An East Coast Main Line train has derailed after it hit a car on the track, police said.
The car driver was killed in the collision, which happened when the Edinburgh to Plymouth Virgin service was heading through Copmanthorpe, near York.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said no passengers were injured when the train was "partially derailed", and they were being helped from the train.
