Three people have been arrested following the discovery of a man's body at a landfill site, police said.
The body, which was found on Friday morning, has been identified as that of 43-year-old father-of-three Stephen Round.
A murder investigation was launched following the grim discovery at a recycling centre on Grange Lange, Redhill, near Granville Country Park.
A post-mortem examination carried out by a Home Office pathologist revealed that Mr Round, who lived alone in St Georges, Telford, had died of head and neck injuries.
Two women and a man were arrested in the local area in connection with the death, West Mercia Police said.
They are being held at local police stations, where they were helping officers with their inquiries, a police spokesman said.
More than 50 police officers and police staff are working on the case.
As part of the investigation a number of wheelie bins have been seized by officers in the St Georges area of the town for forensic examination.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Williamson, who is directing a major incident unit set up at Malinsgate Police Station in Telford, said: "We would like to thank those who have assisted with our investigation.
"Our inquiries are still at a very early stage and we are keen to hear from anyone we have not yet spoken to who had contact with Mr Round or has seen him in recent weeks."
