The father of an abused child has welcomed the jail sentences given to six members of Scotland's biggest paedophile ring.
He said he was particularly satisfied with the sentences given to the two gang members who took a "specific paedophilic interest" in his son.
The man said he had no doubt they would have carried out "atrocious and barbaric" acts if they had gained access to the boy.
"They've got what they deserve," he added.
The father was speaking after six paedophiles were sentenced to jail terms ranging from two to 17 years at the High Court in Edinburgh.
Two gang members, John Milligan, 40, and Craig Boath, 24, were given lengthy jail terms after being convicted of conspiring to sexually abuse children.
The father said both men had taken an interest in his son, who was actually abused by another gang member, gay youth worker James Rennie.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said: "Mr Milligan took a great deal of interest in the images of my son and also described in long graphic details in chatlogs what he would like to do to my son if he was able to gain access to him, which he was very keen to do.
"Mr Boath also took a great deal of interest in my son and in court, claimed that he didn't believe it was a real child. He didn't believe that any of the children were real, it was all just fantasy. I think it's horrific to consider what those men would have done had they been able to get access to my son. I don't have any doubt that they would have carried out the things that they described.
"I don't believe that they were fantasy, and I don't believe that there was a line they would have drawn. I think they would have carried out those atrocious and barbaric acts and I'm eternally grateful that the police investigation uncovered those people when they did and that the things they described in the chatlogs never actually took place."
