Bottles of Malibu Sun SPF spray have been recalled because they contain tanning oil instead of SPF oil.

Home Bargains is recalling the brand's factor 30 because it doesn't contain any protection from the sun's rays.

In a notice posted in its stores, Home Bargains said that a "small number of Tanning Oil products" had been packed into incorrect bottles.

It added: "The bottle is labelled as an SPF30 Dry Oil Spray."

According to the note, the store believes that there are fewer than 200 bottles.

The issue affects bottles with a batch number of 18086.

Customers who have purchased the product have been told not to use it.

Malibu Sun confirmed on its website that the issue had occurred and urged customers who had purchased the product to get in contact with them or Home Bargains.

The news comes as Brits try to protect their skin as Britain continues to experience a heatwave.
