Prince Harry could be set to move next door to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Kensington Palace, a royal has claimed.

Princess Michael of Kent, who is currently Prince William and Kate's neighbour at the Palace, claimed Harry could move into the apartment currently home to the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

The remarks by the outspoken royal were greeted with a response from Buckingham Palace that there were "no plans" for Harry to leave his current one-bedroom flat for the more spacious home.

Princess Michael told Tatler magazine that the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester could move out of the apartment following the departure of their children.

"They're rattling around this huge space and I think Prince Harry might go there, then they'd be next door to each other - very good move," she said.

She added that Prince William's is a "lovely big apartment".

Prince Harry moved from a Clarence House into a former staff flat at Kensington Palace in March 2012.
