A murder probe has been launched after a teenager was stabbed to death in the tenth killing in London since the New Year.

Police said the 18-year-old man died after being knifed during a fight in Wood Green, north London.

Officers had been called at around 4.15pm yesterday to Maryland Road following reports of a fight and a person armed with a knife.

A 19-year-old man was found suffering stab wounds and was taken to hospital where he is in serious but stable condition.

An 18-year-old man then attended a north London hospital with knife wounds.

He later died, and the 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Next of kin have not yet been informed and a post-mortem examination and formal identification will be scheduled in due course, police said.

Another 18-year-old man was stabbed to death in Marylebone on Thursday night.

And on Wednesday, a 17-year-old boy was knifed to death in Homerton High Street in a suspected gang linked attack.
