Train services were disrupted after a man's body was found by the side of a railway.

British Transport Police (BTP), who are investigating the death, said it was being treated as "unexplained".

The white man, believed to be aged around 40, was discovered by BTP officers close to Wye station, near Ashford in Kent, at around 7.20am on Saturday.

The victim's identity is yet to be confirmed, and the incident has been referred to the coroner, a BTP spokesman said.

Southeastern trains said the line between Ashford and Canterbury West was closed until around 1.30pm and warned passengers to expect delays and alterations to other services.
