A woman who hosted a friend for a night was shocked to find that she had posted a two star review of her stay, complaining about poor WiFi, an underwhelming breakfast and dry conversation.

She shared her outrage on Mumsnet, claiming that the woman's post on Facebook had been 'liked' by 13 friends.

The woman using the name 'Biscusting' said that the friend had asked if she could stay for a weekend, as the area she lives in is a popular tourist destination.

She added that the weekend had been uneventful but pleasant and so she was confused to see the bizarre review online.

“I’ve just been browsing FB and looked on her page to see if she’d posted any pictures. To find she’d written quite a lengthy post about her stay,” she wrote.

The review said that she "found the breakfast underwhelming" and the conversation with her friend's other half "a bit dry."

It continued: “The sleigh bed in the guest room was too high and I bumped on the wooden edge so often I have a bruise. The room was too small….the WiFi speed was poor at best.”

Unfortunately for the woman, she had already agreed to host her friend again at the end of July and made firm plans for the return visit.

She asked people for advice on what to do next. Other members of the forum urged her to respond to the Facebook post in order to shame her for her behaviour.

One wrote: “Comment and watch her squirm.”

Others suggested that her friend find somewhere more in keeping with her expectations next time.

“Tell her to stay at an Airbnb then she can review away to her heart’s content,” one user wrote.
