Green Party election broadcast turns Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn into five-year-olds

Mark Chandler6 April 2016

A party political broadcast by the Green Party which turns top politicians into five-year-old children has been shared online thousands of times today.

The video, called the Not So Secret Life Of 5-Year-Old Politicians and due to be broadcast tonight, pokes fun at a lack of “grown-up politics” with a series of playground arguments.

It includes a pint-sized Jeremy Corbyn holding up a rude message he found about him in the toilet and complains: “Everybody’s saying bad things about me and it has to stop.”

Other scenes feature a boy called Jeremy hiding from junior doctors in a toy house, Boris riding a tricycle and a girl called Theresa hurling cuddly toys “out of the country”.

A final scene sees Zac and Sadiq shouting at one another about their housing policies while standing in a sandpit.

The broadcast has been well-received with some people calling it the “best ever” although other people think it's "childish".

Liz Kendall, who is featured in the video, tweeted about the Jeremy sign: “I SWEAR I didn't do it, Seamus, you can check my handwriting and everything...”

Ex Number 10 spin doctor Alistair Campbell tweeted: “Hats off Green Party. PPB is brilliant (though they should have been brave enough to do without drearyspeak at end)”
