Weary Manchester United football fans are flying back from Rome after watching their team lose the Champions League final to Barcelona.
The disappointment was clear to see in the faces of returning fans at Manchester airport.
Darren Stansfield, 21, from High Peak, Derbyshire, said he was "gutted" by the team's defeat.
"I'm really disappointed with the way we played, but there's no shame in losing to Barcelona, they're a quality team," he said. "The atmosphere at the stadium was good. We were with a lot of Barcelona fans so I've got a few Barcelona songs stuck in my head - it's doing my head in."
Barbara Foat, a tutor from Manchester, had her passport, match tickets and purse stolen from her bag while sightseeing in Rome with her daughter Faye.
She said: "We got robbed at the Coliseum. Someone slashed my bag and I had my passport, my daughter's passport and our tickets snatched. It was awful, I had no money and spent all day at the police station. But luckily I remembered my seat number so UEFA replaced our tickets - they were absolutely wonderful."
The 51-year-old said she had an unforgettable night despite United's 2-0 defeat.
"The enjoyment was just irreplaceable," she said. "The United fans were wonderful. But it was just one of those nights and Barcelona were a better team on the night."
Around 20,000 Manchester United fans packed into the stadium and a further 10,000 ticketless supporters were estimated to have travelled to the Eternal City for the game.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "We had 11 people arrested in Manchester last night for minor public order offences and assaults. Nobody was seriously injured. We haven't been made aware of any major incidents in Rome. We're pleased with how everything has gone."
