TSB and Barclays mobile banking apps are down leaving customers unable to access their accounts on their phones.

According to a status update from Barclays, the banks' mobile banking app has been unresponsive since 9.56am, while the Barclaycard app has been down for the past hour.

Customers are still able to use telephone banking and access their accounts via the website.

According to TSB, the issue has been resolved. Previously customers were unable to access both online banking and mobile banking.

The crash comes on a day that many people receive their salaries.

Customers were left furious at being able to access the app.

One user claimed the crashes were happening “on a weekly basis” before adding that it was “the worst possible day for it to be down.”

While another customer claimed that the app was asking him for his passcode but not allowing him to log in.

A Barclays spokesperson said: "We're aware some customers are currently having trouble logging into the Barclays Mobile Banking app at the moment. We're working to resolve this as quickly as possible.”
