Commuters are set to face a second week of delays on South Western Railway as the UK heatwave continues.
An emergency speed restriction was put in place last week amid concerns that rails will buckle as temperatures soar.
Network Rail confirmed in a statement that the restrictions are still in place today.
It also said that some services will be altered or cancelled between Waterloo, Woking and Guildford.
A Network Rail spokesperson told the Standard: “A number of services on the South Western Rail network will be affected by speed restrictions this week, as ongoing hot weather continues to affect track conditions.
“This is to keep passengers safe as in some areas rail temperatures are reaching almost 50C which puts tracks at risk of buckling.”
Monday morning was a difficult one for South Western Railway commuters with many complaining of overcrowding on the network and delays.
There was chaos at Waterloo last week as commuters struggled to get home due to a number of incidents on the line.
Images showed hundreds of people crammed into the station attempting to make their way home.
According to the Met Office, the heatwave is set to last for the next month.
The capital will see the mercury sitting at around 29C for the next two weeks.

Mark Wilson, meteorologist at the Met Office, told the Standard that “high pressure will dominate for the next one to two weeks.”
Parts of the UK including Northern Ireland are on a hosepipe ban with companies urging people to think about the water they are using.
