The Circle and District lines were part-suspended on Thursday evening after a person was hit by a train at Bayswater.

The line was closed between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road just after 5pm after reports of a person on the tracks at Bayswater – sparking severe delays on the rest of the service.

Rush-hour commuters were urged to use other methods of transport as the incident was being dealt with.

Emergency services rushed to the station, with videos showing fire engines and ambulances parked outside.
