Commuters faced “utter chaos” at Finsbury Park station this morning after a signalling problem on the railway line.

There was no service at all between the rail station and Moorgate, with the line only reopening just after 9am.

Great Northern said tickets were being accepted on the London Underground and Greater Anglia services between Liverpool Street and Hertford East.

But photos from Finsbury Park Tube this morning showed a mass of disgruntled travellers at the entrance and packed inside.

Twitter user @frontwards wrote: “Finsbury Park station is hell this morning. AVOID.”

Danny Panthanki wrote: “Commuter hell at Finsbury Park. Having to queue for the underground. Not moved for 15mins.”

And @N13London described the scene as “utter chaos”.
