A male cyclist was involved in a collision with a bus this morning, police have said.

The man, thought to be in his 20s, was hit by a route 264 bus at Amen Corner in Tooting at around 7.30am.

He was taken to St George's Hospital with leg injuries, the London Ambulance Service (LAS) said.

A police spokesman added: "The LAS called us to alert us to a bus and a bicycle in collision. The cyclist suffered leg injuries but was conscious and breathing."

No further update on the man's condition was available.

The collision follows a fatal crash yesterday in which a 52-year-old man was hit by a tipper truck. He was the sixth cyclist to have been killed on London's roads this year.
