Hitman adverts in women’s toilet cubicles don’t look quite like they’re supposed to

An advert for Square Enix’s forthcoming new Hitman game has gone viral – but perhaps not quite for the reason it was intended to.

The promotion featured artificial puddles of blood emerging from toilet stalls, bringing to mind the dispatching method of the game’s bald assassin anti-hero Agent 47.

The adverts were spotted in the toilets at the PC Gamer Weekender at London’s Old Truman Brewery last weekend – in both the men’s and the women’s stalls.

As one attendee pointed out, the stunt was hilariously misinterpreted – and it’s easy to see why.

Sharing photos of the bloody pools, Twitter user @graceblaise wrote: “Hitman adverts in the girls’ toilets. Not sure this is what they were going for…”

Despite looking dubious, the ads remained for the second day of the event, with Grace returning to the “scene of the crime” for another snap of the dodgy pool.

The new instalment in the franchise, due for release later in March, sees Agent 47 bring his stealthy takedowns and body-stashing antics to the latest generation of consoles for the first time.
