Wire5 June 2013

Three's 3G mobile data service was today hit by a network outage leaving some subscribers without internet.

A spokesman said “some” customers were unable to access the internet this morning, and the network was carrying out a phased process to attempt to fix the problem.

He said: “Some of our customers are unable to access the internet. We are working to restore their data services as soon as possible. We apologise to all those affected for any inconvenience.”

The ThreeUKSupport Twitter feed said: “We’re having some issues with our data network this morning. It’s being worked on as a priority, sorry for any inconvenience. More to follow.”

The spokesman said calls and texting services were unaffected.

Three has around nine million customers in the UK, but the network said it was impossible to say how may people had been affected by today’s “intermittent” problem.
