Alain de Botton has long been our favourite modern philosopher. Now his sister is coming to the fore. Former psychologist Miel de Botton has begun a music career and is premiering her album, Magnetic, tomorrow. She promises French translations of English classics and a reggae version of Je ne Regrette Rien. “Psychology taught me to connect deeply with people,” she says, “to turn emotion into a positive force.” Perhaps her brother could help with some introductions: he hit the headlines last year after striking up a strange link with 1D’s Harry Styles.
