Shel Kaphan bites back at Brad Stone's book

The perils of writing about Amazon. Author Brad Stone has been taken to task for his book The Everything Store on the website’s review section by MacKenzie Bezos, wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who gave the tome a one-star review citing factual inaccuracies. Now Shel Kaphan, the company’s first ever employee, has waded in with an Amazon review.

Although Kaphan liked the book, he has listed further inaccuracies including this notable untruth: “I can testify that I did not, in fact, have a bushy beard at 17 when I worked at the Whole Earth Truck Store & Catalog in Menlo Park.”
