Miles Aldridge was joined last night by his model sister Saffron at the launch of I Only Want You to Love Me, a showcase of his fashion photography at Somerset House’s Embankment Gallery.
Images of Cara Delevingne, Lily Cole and ex-Downton star Jessica Brown Findlay are among those displayed in the retrospective, with Aldridge considering his use of traditional film as the key to his success.
“When I started out every photographer had their own kind of film and their own lab, and they kept their methods secret,” he explained. “I’ve held on to that. Digital is easier to do but less satisfying.”
He has no intention of packing his camera to go on holiday. “I don’t take pictures when I go away,” he said. “Otherwise it’s somewhat of a busman’s holiday for me.”
