Rosamund Pike’s journey from Bond girl to scriptwriter

4 February 2014

The career of Rosamund Pike has been relatively successful compared with some other former Bond girls but it appears she has ambitions for loftier heights. Pike, who starred in Die Another Day, has secretly penned a screenplay and hopes to star as the film’s lead. Pike has co-written a script for Godmother, a romantic comedy based on the Carrie Adams novel, which follows Tess, a serial godmother forced to deal with the many trials of her friends and their children.

Fans of the novel, however, will have to be patient as Pike has been delayed by her role alongside Ben Affleck in the anticipated blockbuster Gone Girl. “As far as I am aware she is still writing it,” Pike’s agent said, “but everything is on hold until she finishes filming Gone Girl in March.”
