Christmas of yore, punk style. Leee Black Childers, photographer of everyone from Andy Warhol to David Bowie, spoke at the Society Club in Soho last night. He recalled 1976, when he lived with Sir Terence Conran’s son Sebastian, and how he was invited for Christmas by activist and journalist Caroline Coon.

“Billy idol and Siouxsie Sioux were there, and we were in the basement having that flaming pudding thing,” said Kentucky-born Childers, who has published a photographic memoir titled Drag Queens, Rent Boys, Pickpockets, Junkies, Rockstars and Punks. “Then I heard carols being sung by the country singer Jim Reeves coming from above. I walked up three floors to find the record player and sitting by it a little spiky haired guy crying.” It was Sid Vicious. “Sweet, sweet boy,” said Childers. “He just got confused.”
