Kate, our jewel in the crown

The Queen is said to have assigned her personal dresser Angela Kelly to help the Duchess of Cambridge prepare for her tour of Australia and New Zealand in April and give her a more regal look — think more jewels.

Has it left other well-formed noses out of joint? Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs — a friend of Prince William — and Lavinia Brennan run the ethical dress brand Beulah London, a known favourite label of Kate’s. Last night Isaacs and Brennan were at a private view for Pepsi’s The Art of Football exhibition at The Bloomsbury Ballroom and a little frosty on the subject of any regal look for Kate.

The Londoner suggested that their gowns would look very pretty accessorised with a few million pounds’ worth of royal diamonds. The duo’s discomfort was evident and their laughter awkward before Brennan drew a hazy line under the issue. “I don’t even know what to say to that,” she said. “No comment.”
