Hugh Bonneville 'moved' beyond measure by on screen death of Lady Sybil

What would the Earl of Grantham say? Hugh Bonneville turned out for the launch of The Middle Class ABC, a humorous celebration of the British middle classes, at Pimlico’s St Saviour’s Church Hall along with Hugh Laurie and Dawn French. He was keeping any Downton Abbey plot secrets close to his chest but admitted to getting emotional on discovering that his on-screen daughter Lady Sybil (played by Jessica Brown Findlay), would be killed off mid-series. “To say I was moved would be a huge understatement,” he said.

Bonneville is receiving a new education in modern technology on the set of his new TV film Mr Stink. “We’re filming in 3D, which is a first for me. It’s bizarre and a completely different experience. It might not have caught on in our living rooms quite yet but it’s a wonderful thing and it’s challenging to learn how it all works.”
