Dame Vivienne Westwood was in fine form last night at the rooftop solar-powered party OFFtheGRID in north London. VIP guests were shuttled to the event by hybrid cars but Dame Viv arrived on a bicycle, wearing a necklace made from conkers and with her legs clad in fishnet tights.

The Dame held court until Jamie Hince, pictured with model Karen Elson, arrived to DJ. Dame Viv is no fan of fracking but was keen to tell us about the benefits of solar energy as a power source “unless of course the Government decides that it owns the sun, it can’t go wrong”.
