Mary Berry dropped in at Emma Freud’s house to be interviewed for the Radio Times. But it was not the thé-pour-deux as planned. “There are 11 people here to take a photo of me and Mary Berry having a chat,” Freud tweeted. Even Kirstie Allsopp dropped in. Freud made a cake — the Londoner suggested ginger and Freud obliged — but simpler fare proved popular for Freud’s tortoise, Jeff, snapped scoffing strawberries.
