After the Jubilee line stormed to victory in the “World Cup of Tube lines”, London’s 32 boroughs are now battling to be crowned champion.

The “World Cup of London boroughs” is nearly into the second round of 16 after thousands of people voted in the first round of 32 through a Twitter poll.

The second round schedule will be complete on Thursday morning, once the final first round tie between Kensington and Chelsea and Islington has been “played”.

The most eye-catching match set for the second round is a “game” between the two big-hitting London boroughs of Hackney and Camden.

There are also two bitter south London derbies, with Southwark taking on Lambeth and Greenwich tied with Lewisham, which won last year's tournament.

Tower Hamlets was arguably the biggest name to fall in the first round after it lost out to Wandsworth.

The final is set to take place later this month.
