Wimbledon 2016: David Cameron booed by Centre Court crowd after Andy Murray's grand slam win

David Cameron was booed by a section of the Wimbledon crowd after Andy Murray’s grand slam triumph against Milos Raonic.

The Wimbledon champion was being interviewed on court moments after his straight sets victory against the Canadian.

As he gave his reaction to his second Wimbledon crown, he paid tribute to fans and added the prime minister was among the audience on Centre Court.

But his reference to Mr Cameron was greeted with a chorus of boos leading the tennis ace to wait wait patiently for the noise to subside.

He then said: “I think playing a Wimbledon final is tough but I certainly wouldn’t like to be the prime minister.”

He added it was “impossible job” as some boos returned while Mr Cameron laughed from his seat alongside his mother Mary.
