Two people injured after Boots sign falls from shop front in Chingford

Two people have been rushed to hospital after a Boots sign fell from a shop front in east London.

The pair were injured after the frontage collapsed at around 6pm on Old Church Road in Chingford.

It was not immediately clear how serious their injuries were.

Scotland Yard said road closures were in place following the incident.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 18:10hrs on Thursday, 11 April to Old Church Road, junction with New Road E4, after a sign fell off of a shop front.

“Officers attended.

“Two people were injured and have been taken to hospital.

“Road closures in place. Officers remain on scene.”
