A police van 'flipped on its side' after colliding with a Porsche in north London this afternoon.

Three people, including two police officers, were taken to hospital following the crash on Totteridge Lane in Barnet at 2.15pm.

Witness James Varecka said: "The van flipped sideways across road - the windscreen caved in. The Porsche opposite had bad damage to the front."

Metropolitan police traffic officers are investigating.

The road was closed at the junction with Barnet Lane and traffic was being diverted, Transport for London said.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
