A motorcyclist has died after a collision in west London in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police were called to reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a BMW car in Shepiston Lane, Hayes, at 5.25am.

Paramedics from London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended but the male motorcyclist, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s next of kin have been informed but formal identification is yet to take place.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course, a Metropolitan Police Service spokesman said.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was later bailed pending further enquiries until a date in late May.

Traffic officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them.

Anyone with information should call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Alperton on 020 8991 9555.
