A wheelchair user has died after being hit by a tipper truck just a few hundred yards from his home.

Brian Munro, 67, was critically injured in the collision in Queenstown Road, Battersea, at about 6pm on Friday.

Scotland Yard today confirmed that Mr Munro had died in hospital on Saturday as officers issued a fresh appeal for witnesses.

A spokesman said: "The man, aged 67, was taken to a south London hospital in a critical condition. He died on Saturday, 28 November.

"Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course."

The lorry driver stopped at the scene and was not arrested, police said.

Witnesses or anyone who can help police should call the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8543 5157.
