A driver has escaped uninjured but is 'shaken' after his lorry overturned at a bus interchange in south London.

Emergency services were called shortly after 12.30pm this afternoon when the Waitrose lorry flipped on its side at the Vauxhall bus interchange in Wandsworth Road.

A spokeswoman for the London Fire Brigade said the driver escaped uninjured and nobody was trapped inside.

Traffic has been affected as the vehicle is blocking three out of five lanes.

Police are at the scene waiting for a recovery vehicle.

A spokesman for Waitrose said: "Most importantly we're thankful that no-one has been injured, although our driver is understandably shaken.

"We're very grateful to the emergency services for their response and are working with authorities to safely re-open the road as soon as possible."
