Christmas came early for children and adults alike as their favourite television characters came to life in Regent Street.

Giant inflatables, a marching band, floats and larger-than-life children's characters all graced the busy London shopping street on Saturday morning as part of the Hamleys Toy Parade.

Characters including The Snowman from the Raymond Briggs classic Christmas story, Peppa Pig, Hello Kitty, Snoopy and The Gruffalo waved to waiting children who had lined the parade route.

Bumblebee and Optimus Prime from Transformers, Ben and Holly, Sonic the Hedgehog and Fireman Sam in his firetruck also delighted the waiting crowds.

The free parade began at 10.30am at the Glasshouse Street junction before making its way up Regent Street and ending at the world famous Hamleys store.

Toy lovers also had the opportunity to meet their favourite characters once the parade had ended.
