Foodie family: sisters in new wave of women cooks and caterers

1/2

Two sisters who are trying to re-introduce Londoners to the benefits of full-fat foods have taken their place in a new generation of emerging female cooks, chefs and caterers in the capital.

Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley, 33 and 27, said that starting with their food delivery service Hemsley & Hemsley, which operates from Stockwell, they hope to “undo 100 years of fake food” by encouraging people to eat full-fats and organic food.

Jasmine said people overlook the benefits of fat which she says is good for health because it’s a whole food and “it’s very satiating, it makes you feel full”.

The sisters are two members of a new wave of women featured in tomorrow’s ES Magazine. Others include Alice Hart, 32, author of Friends at My Table, Polpetto’s Florence Knight and 2012 MasterChef winner Shelina Permalloo.
