A Londoner is to become the first person with cystic fibrosis to attempt Everest.

Nick Talbot, 37, of Docklands, said the climb in April would be “really tough”. Mr Talbot, who hopes to raise £100,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, said he was on a drug that made a “huge improvement” but others were not so lucky.

His sister Emma also has the disease. He is director of global development at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
