Cyclist injured in crash with van near Victoria station

A cyclist was hit by a van this morning at a busy junction near Victoria station.

Police, ambulance crews and the London Air Ambulance were called to the scene at 9.40am this morning.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, was struck at the junction of Neathouse Place and Wilton Road, in central London.

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said: "We are currently on the scene treating one patient, that is a man. He is conscious and alert."

Daniel Placide, head chef of restaurant Lime Orange, in Neathouse Place, said: "I saw the man under the van. And then the ambulance came and the fire man. There is a lot of traffic."

Earlier today commuters reported heavy traffic in the area.

Neathouse Place was closed following the incident.
