This is the bizarre moment Halloween revellers dressed as traffic cones brought traffic to a standstill in south-west London.

Footage shows the group of six people in giant orange cone costumes blocked oncoming traffic during celebrations in Kingston in the early hours of Sunday.

Police were eventually called to the scene in Clarence Street at about 4.40am after buses and taxis had been delayed by the group.

Officers from Kingston posted a picture of the call log alongside the caption: “A very interesting #Halloween style call out for our emergency response team!"

The message was re-tweeted more than 400 times within hours of being posted.

Dan Theochari told of the moment he saw the group after a night out.

“They were just standing in front of the taxi and the bus not letting them get past and taking pictures of themselves,” he said.

"I didn't actually see the police I was waiting for a taxi but I saw it and it made me laugh.”
