Thousands of Argentinian and German expats will gather in London tonight to watch the World Cup final.

Pubs, bars and restaurants around the capital will be packed with football fans cheering on the two teams as they aim to lift the trophy in Brazil

Supporters clutching Argentinian flags gathered at Moo Cantina in Pimlico several hours before kick off to secure a prime position for the match.

Sergio Schuchinsky, who owns the restaurant, said around 400 fans will be there tonight to watch the game. He predicts a 2-1 victory for Argentina.

Pick a side: the German and Argentinan flags are seen in front of the London Eye earlier today

"Messi will give 100%," he said.

"He's the best player, but he hasn't shown it in this tournament. Tonight it's going to be like Maradona in 1986.

"He has to win. Everyone is waiting for that moment."

Germany are the bookmakers' favourites though and punters at the Zeitgeist pub in Vauxhall will be hoping the European side do come out on top.

Entrance tickets for tonight sold out in just 90 minutes after Germany secured their spot in the final.
